HILLARY CLINTON IN QUÉBEC…
By Bernard Bujold –
Hillary Clinton and Bill will come to spend a vacation in Quebec in North Hatley during one week starting on Sunday August 12.
It is Louise Penny who have invited them…
Bill Clinton loves Mont Tremblant but without Hillary…
As far as I’m concerned, no I will not go biking with the couple…

DONALD TRUMP AND THE LEAKING…

August 2, 2017

DONALD TRUMP AND THE LEAKING…
By Bernard Bujold –
The leaking of information is a very old trick often used by politicians in the old days of paper medias. But in today world of Internet, leaking is a new ball game…
If in the past, one politician had a couple days to react to a leak, now it is a matter of minutes! What is the solution?
This is an interesting question!
But two things are for sure:
1. All problem always have a solution and it will be find or invented with time;
2. In life the only truth is the reality and the facts are that the President is now Donald Trump and that no one else have the chair. All the rest of the story is illusion and noise!
But the leaks situation is a very interesting challenge for anyone interested in the science of public relations…
One must approach the problem like a house roof…

THE MAYOR OF MONTREAL IN 2017

August 2, 2017

THE MAYOR OF MONTRÉAL IN 2017…
By Bernard Bujold –
The hour of judgment has arrived and on November 5, the electors of Montreal will decide whether they want to re-elect their current mayor Denis Coderre!
Candidates interested in replacing him may submit their names until October 6. Some Montreal personalities have already admitted that they do not want to do municipal politics, but others say they are very interested in dislodging the outgoing mayor.
A race to follow.

RENÉ LÉVESQUE AND HIS MEMORY IN 2017…

July 30, 2017

RENÉ LÉVESQUE AND HIS MEMORY IN 2017…
By Bernard Bujold-
If there is a Quebec hero, it is most certainly René Lévesque (1922-1987).
René had a very journalistic vision of life…
He was deeply democratic and objective in his thoughts, and even too much, and he always analyzed a situation by looking at the facts. René Lévesque also had the character of the journalists of his time because he liked alcohol, women and gambling…
How to remember in 2017 of this character, a journalist who become the most outstanding politician in Quebec?
The project to make a museum of his house birthplace in New Carlisle dates from 1988 when I proposed to his then owner (Georgette Bujold) to sell it to a foundation that René’s friends would set up, who Corinne Lévesque was with me among the interested people. I had also tried to convince Pierre Péladeau to preside over the project, but he found the city of New Carlisle too far from Montreal and he proposed instead to offer a financial gift and his moral support. The debate of the house resurfaces again today as the famous house of Lévesque is about to collapse due to lack of proper maintenance.
If there is a conclusion, it is that the best memories are those transmitted by the mind rather than by physical things. A memory in the mind is a little eternal while the old houses and their contents disappear to become dust …

THE END OF CAMERAS SIMON IN MONTREAL

July 30, 2017

THE END OF CAMERAS SIMON –
By Bernard Bujold-
The notorious CAMERAS SIMON photographic equipment store in Montreal is definitely closing its doors on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 6 pm. If this decision was announced to employees on Monday, July 24, the proposed closure was long considered by the owner. He was, however, waiting for the final decision in the file of the Palais des Congrès and its expansion. Unfortunately for the owner, if he hoped to take advantage of a buy back, the expropriation of the neighborhood stops at the only building located west of Clark Street (Steve Music) and does not touch the Camera Simon building!
Faced with this decision and an unpromising future, the only option became the definitive closure.
Another sad page of history that turns for Montreal in the year of its 375th anniversary…
