by Bernard Bujold (LeStudio1.com) –
Any application for municipal election must be filed with the Office of the Presiding Officer before Friday, October 4, 2013 at 4: 30 p.m..
In all, 103 positions available including the mayor of the city for which 11 candidates are running (4 however dominate the race).
It is highly likely that a large division of votes will happen for the position of Mayor and the winner will have very little or no majority.
At the level of candidates for the office of councilor, hundreds of stars (and less stars) are running. Several ex-journalists like Philippe Schnobb who runs in the Saint Jacques district and there are also several artists or children of famous artists like Galia Vaillancourt, daughter of sculptor Armand Vaillancourt, who is running in the Mile End district of Plateau Mont-Royal. The decisive vote will be held Sunday 3 November.
“May the best men and women win!”
And as they say at the Casino: “Place your bets.”
To be continued…
